    Do you use influencers?

Hi all! I really would like to grow my IBE clientele and have been thinking about using influencers. Have you done it and how did you do it? Was it successful?

Hi 👋🏼 yes I have influencers on my team. I don’t personally reach out to any. But if they seek me out I interview them. Go over their reach and followers. If I choose to take them on, they sign a contract agreeing to post and let me get photos/videos as I please and rights to the pictures I take of them for marketing. Hope this helps! ☺️

Ian, would you be comfortable sharing the contract language you use?

I have never done it but I have SO many questions...how do you make it fair...how often should they post/talk about it? Referral perks; like if they refer someone? Do they get the initial install for free or just pay for the hair? What about moveups? Lol. So. Many. Questions.

I’ve had some reach out but didn’t feel it would benefit me, as time is the issue. The other thing is how they post. Most only want to give you stories which disappear and I didn’t think that was fair and they want the hair free. I don’t agree personally with that either!

Google Search for the top influencers in your area. I spent a lot of time stalking them and trying to decide who I thought it would be worth it to offer to. I’m really trying to hit it hard this year in Chicago, so I offered one girl a full install plus hair and continuing maintenance based on how it was going referral wise. I’ll keep you posted!

I have a couple that have reached out. I do not pay for their hair but will do their installs and maintenance complementary if time permits of corse in exchange for posts and a story highlight

I gave the hair ,initial coloring and install free and she will pay half of the maintenance. I like this so far

Google the most popular influencers in your area and basically stalk them until you find one who’s followers and style match yours best. I probably messaged 10 and got one response.

I did one girl, gave her everything completely complimentary. I will say that I’m having trouble with the amount of posts, and I haven’t gotten much from it. It was kind of a circus, she was late, I had a hard time getting the photos I wanted. Ugh. I have been sponsoring a LOT of Instagram posts and that’s helped a ton! So- I would totally do it again- just reallly have the expectations laid out, and allow a ton more time just in case.

Oh- and I have since decided that my referral program would be only for IBE and if you wear IBE and refer a new IBE client, you get $50 off maintenance. That’s what I’m doing now for my influencer as well.

Yes. Promoting IG posts, they come up as sponsored, but I’ve gotten a lot of followers, inquiries and clients that way. Change your IG to a business page, post an amazing one and click promote, and really narrow down your audience to your ideal client.
