I have been using the traditional cotton/poly blend thread to sew in but today I experimented with a 100% nylon thread. Wow! It was really nice to work with. It didn’t stick to stray hairs as easy or at all, and it was much more transparent with the weft. It was a bit stiff to work with, but I think I like it. Does anyone have any feedback or warnings for me on this? I can take pics of the threads tomorrow if that helps.

I’ve been thinking I’d like to switch my thread to something else as well! Where did you buy it from??
I put next to the thread I usually use. It’s upholstery thread
I actually ordered it by accident through amazon so it’s been sitting in my drawer.
I’d like alternatives too. I have wig thread but the knots are hard to tie.
I’d be open to trying it! Did it knot as well? Was it slippery? Thanks for the suggestion!
[@HAIRxIAN] And I had a conversation about this the other day! I understand that it doesn’t stick to stray hairs and is more transparent. But I do want to caution that because it is more stiff, your grow out may not remain intact and compact quite as well. The cotton thread gives it a grip and stickiness which we need to keep all the wefts held together during the duration of their wear. If you do choose a nylon, make sure that you are documenting the grow out to compare it with a cotton thread grow out.
Great point! I did one row regular and one row nylon so I will be able To compare on same client! This will be a good experiment
Stitching game strong 💪🏽
How was it to knot it??
Really easy! It's a little stiffer which makes it easier to control.
This is a move up and a 10 week grow out a nylon thread just in case you guys were wondering how it holds up
This looks great! Can you tell me exactly what thread you used?
