I just had a client text me this picture that her hair is ripped out at the scalp. I’ve never experienced this with a client before so I’m very concerned. She went to a blowout bar for a blowout today, but didn’t notice this till tonight. I will take any and all advice for this.

Did she notice this AFTER the blowout?! They could’ve grabbed it with the bristles while blowing out😬
If the stylist doing the blowout isn’t familiar with extensions, she could’ve easily grabbed too close to the scalp and pulled it out! If it was pulled out BEFORE her blowout, I’m sure the stylist giving her the blowout would’ve said something to her like! Don’t ya think?!🤔
Also this!!!!
That’s a great point. Had to be the blowout. Any advice on how to proceed? Take the row out and move to a different area? I feel so bad for her. It’s my undercut client
I agree with you. I am always open and honest with my clients and find that they trust me more because of it. I’m hoping there is space to adjust since this was already an untraditional set with placement because of her undercut.
She’s coming in tmrw so I’ll update you all then!
I took an extensive hair loss class. It’s a little hard to tell from the photo but circles of bald spots with little hairs is caused from stress. Usually it’s groups of circles bunched together. If it was ripped out from the blow out she would of felt it. If it was from the weight of the weft it would of been exactly the pattern of where the bead was. It was more likely an allergic reaction, to a product, medication, or stress. If she’s had issues with color before I wouldn’t put color directly on her scalp. I’d use foils, and make her sign a waiver.
The update on this is she decided to take them out till January. I will say it looked waaay less scary in person. We determined she ripped it out when lifting her 4yo onto her hip and it got caught on her hair and pulled.
Curious, do you use bonded nylon for cotton thread?
I think I use cotton. Is there a preference?
