    Offering extensions exclusively

Does any on here offer extensions exclusively? I already only offer Extensions and color but I’m trying to decide if I need to start only offering extensions. I’m finding it difficult as far as scheduling goes to juggle everything. I’ve been looking for an assistant to help but that is proving to be more difficult than I thought it was going to be. Any advice on this is welcome.

My clientele is about 80% extension clients. I feel that every client is an extension client :) you just have to market to the people that are in your chair! For example, not every single client wants a full extension install but almost every person can use just one row for fullness. Or, if they don’t need it for fullness I market it as “chemical free balayage”. You just have to get creative, but you can absolutely build a clientele just on extension clients alone

    Chemical free balayage , now that’s clever🏆

Go for it!! Your profit margins on your time will always be highest with extensions anyway, so even if you spend a little less time behind the chair initially after the switch, your income will still reflect luxury service pricing.

In another thread we talked about this. I started by stopping kids and men. That keeps from having weird gaps in your day. Then cutting off people who just get cuts so it’s only longer appointments that also get chemicals. They will eliminate themselves over time!

I’m working towards being an extension only stylist and believe I’m going to make the switch this year....I also stopped accepting all “haircut only clients including mens, women’s and children’s cuts. I find myself sort of bitter on my color days because I’m working my A$$ off for 8+ hours and the return for my time is 1/3 of what I make in hair extensions per hour....I just need to do it but it’s hard giving up so many loyal high paying color clients that I’ve been doing forever!!

I’m already charge 250-300$ per head and double book aggressively with an assistant so I feel like I’m maxed out. There’s only so much I can justify charging for before I feel bad! I think it’s just time to start doing extensions only! It’s just making that leap that scares me!

Hi 👋🏼 My business is 💯% extension clients. I offer color, but only with an extension service. I will never go back.
