All tips/tricks welcome!! Guys, my stitching isn’t near a clean as I want.. I keep getting tiny hairs all up in my stitching! 😩 I’m trying the hand placement tip from McKenzie, but I can’t seem to get those dang hairs out of way!! Seems like when I’m pulling up they get in there from I don’t even know where?! I’m not liking the look at all.. help!

Ugh that’s the worst feeling!!! It’s so tough. I don’t know if you’ve tried this yet before but I buy my thread directly from the IBE store and it is so much smoother than any other cotton thread that I’ve tried! I saw someone else on here say to put oil on your thread and flat iron it? I think you’re getting cross hairs from the cotton picking up the hairs but without a pic it’s hard to tell!
I haven’t oiled but I do flat iron my thread and it makes a huge difference

I’m using the tread from my kit? I will for sure try to flat iron or use oil!! HUGE thanks!!
Okay now that I see the pic it looks like crosshairs from your section and from the mustache of the weft:) I agree with what everyone else is saying about dampening the hair on the weft slightly before stitching and using hair spray on your clients hair and then putting your Velcro’s in! Those two things will make a huge difference ❤️
Here is an up close pic.. I swear my sections are clean when I’m starting and no matter what I’ve tied, those damn hairs just start showing up and I can’t get rid of them.
Try spraying that top section with water prior to stitching.
Thank you!! Will do!!
Try practicing on a daughter or friend with the hair you got in your kit to see if you can get it cleaner, sometimes it is just because we try and hurry, instead of focusing stitch by stitch, your stitching pattern looks excellent though! Just those dang hairs.
That was a friend!! 😂😂 I brought all of my stuff home for the weekend to practice more! Thank you so much for responding!
Curious to how many pieces of hair are on this row? Is it maybe to many? Just a thought, I can’t tell by the picture but maybe?
4 wefts.
When you section out your hair, put the top section in a scrunchie or a hair tie. Take a working hairspray and spray your top section prior to placing it in the scrunchie. Then place Velcro strips all along the top.
So you think the hairs are coming from the top, not from the bottom when I’m pulling up on the thread? I will for sure try this!! Thank you! 😊
Possibly and if your beads are too close to the scalp you can also pull up hairs
Yes use water and hair spray to keep those hairs at bay doll! If you’re getting hair that’s coming through you may be scooping hair back through by accident. That may be just an adjustment of your needle placement. And I do the finger placement on the weft when I pull my string out from my stitch like what McKenzie does. I know it’s frustrating!! Be patient and give yourself grace. I promise the more you do the better it gets!
Thank you! You taught me so much and I’m using all of the tips and tricks! I just can’t figure out where I need to tweak... I’ll keep on practicing!
I used a water bottle when I started and that’s why it’s like all rough.. it started to dry and get kinda frizzy.. but I’ll try hairspray!
I find that using hairspray and 2 longer clips. To help hold the loose hairs down.
From my point of view, it Looks as if your scoop with the needle is going to far down under the bottom weft, so when you pull the thread up it will grab hairs. Try not scooping too deep. Try to keep the needle close to the base as possible. I used to get this problem too until I stopped scooping too deep. Just another thought. I hope this helps. I use hairspray on the top and bottom before I place my wefts. Seems to be more secure and prevents the bottom weft from slipping.
Thank you so much! I’m glad I’m not the only one!
Try just watching the stitching video one more time too! There’s so much information in there and little tweaks, maybe there something you could incorporate that you have forgotten about!
Yes ma’am! Will do! Thank you!
