    Nbr vs ibe

Hi! So I need help explaining the difference of nbr and ibe to a client who has very very fine hair. She is currently wearing nbr and seems to have a lot of wefts on each row right now... she was told ibe couldn’t support her hair... so I’m just wondering why and any advice anyone has is greatly appreciated!!

Who told her that 🙄I switch a lot of people over and I usually tell them with nbr there are spaces in between the beads which cause stress on fine hair but with ibe there is no space between so the weight is equally distributed which makes it healthier for the scalp and more comfortable. I’ve been certified and worn both methods and I can’t imagine going back to nbr. And all of my clients say they are so much more comfortable and no one has looked back after switching to ibe.

The reason I seeked IBE was exactly for clients like her... as good and comfortable as I felt applying NBR to my clients. I had 1 or 2 that couldn’t support the weight of wefts on “less points of contact” or any kind of over direction caused by the bead and foundation, they would come back inevitably with “juicy bulbs” and each time the end beads would be irritated. I hated it and it stressed me out. With IBE.. I feel the foundation is more solid, more supported and weight is definitely more evenly distributed, causing less tension and potentially juicy bulbs aka less bald spots. If she has “a lot of wefts” currently, I would be more confident with IBE. But it sounds like she shouldn’t even have that many to begin with... my goal with my clients is to match their existing density, never over doing the amount of wefts because... 1. it will be too heavy. 2. It might not even look right or blend I hope that made sense.

How many wefts do you typically use on a fine haired client? I’m very new to extensions and trying to make sure I’m doing it all correct!!!

I agree 💯 with everything you said. Nbr would stress me out as well with extremely fine hair clients. IBE definitely has a more even distribution of weight

I made a video as well in regards to this topic. I think it was back in October and it is posted on my page....I’m wearing a plaid shirt in the cover✌🏼

I’ve never done NBR but from what I’ve seen of clients coming to me seeking a better option (IBE) I’m appalled at the grow out! Minimum points of contact = maximum points of tension
