Yeah I’ve had this question come up and I just wanted to address it and use it as a teaching moment here with everyone.
With IBE there are at least double the attachment points as with NBR. So when you go to release the natural hair shed, there may be more with IBE because there is double the amount of natural hair shed that has been trapped in those beads. ￼
What we want to look for in our comb out, is not necessarily the amount, but the TYPE of hair that we are combing! Once you cut your wefts off and expose the beaded row, make sure you look at it to see if the hairs that are still being held in those beads have large round bulbs attached (possible tension damage) or misshapen elongated bulbs (natural shed from hair in telogen phase.)
Don’t be afraid to make adjustments if you’re not happy with what you’re seeing in your grow out. First address tension to see if it helps then address weight✌🏼￼
