So I had a consultation come in who has Hashimoto. She says she loses hair like crazy. It grows but then falls out just as fast. She had very thin curly hair. I felt in my gut she should not get extensions because of the rate she was losing her hair. I told her no but felt so bad because I know she was hoping for better news. Has anyone experienced a client with this autoimmune disease?

I have a client with Hashimoto and I’ve been able to give her IBE no problem. She only gets 3 wefts per row and no longer than 18” so that the weight isn’t too heavy.
I would also recommend Energize line from Davines. It helps create circulation and promotes hair growth. I would recommend the shampoo and the super active. I have clients who’s hair loss has almost stopped.
Yasssss! Energizing is the best of the best
I would definitely follow Rachel’s advice and do three wefts per row. I think it is worth a try, as long as you’re very upfront and honest with that client. I also would adjust their move up appointment up to 5 to 6 weeks as well, no longer.
I have Hashimoto’s myself, and have worn extensions for years and years. I have been in and out of remission also for 2 years. I completely agree with doing lighter rows/less wefts and 5/6 week move up appointments. It will change her life ❤️
I just had someone reach out who has Lupus so I would love any feedback or experience someone can share too.
Thank you!
