    Beads slipping?

After install I colored and washed clients hair. Everything was secure. A week later she texts me that they are slipping. Is she being too rough? Is it my technique?

How many wefts per row and what is the length? Are they slipping entirely in the row? Or is it just one side or both sides?

Just one side. 5 wefts. The 5th I put in the middle of the head

End is it the side you begin stitching or the ending side?

OK so I asked all these questions so I could help you narrow it down! A lot of times beads are slipping on the corners because they were overstitched…Meaning there was too much tension due to extra stitches. Also, if the beads are placed at a 90 degree angle to the bead causing a sprouty drop out, the tension can also cause slipping.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I’m going to double check my work. I hope this isn’t a dumb question are all the oil and leave in products ok with the beads?

They should be ok! But I also would stay away from the root with any oils or leave ins! Most of those should be concentrated on the midshaft and down👌🏼

I actually have had this happen to me before. I am very careful to make sure the beads are secured. I had to switch to a different type of bead for a few clients.

I use the doctor locks beads. Before I started stitching I went through and double clamped the beads. I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you look in the archives under sectioning and beadwork there are conversations on beads slipping and solutions.
