Anyone want to show off their blending skills?

I’ve been blending my extensions with clients natural hair for years, but I’ve always done it by feel and have never had any training. Do any of you have a method to your madness? I’m sure there are better, more current techniques out there than I use. I make it work, but I am never truly confident that I’m doing it right, or getting the best blend. I even sometimes fall asleep worrying that I missed something. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’d love a class on blending. Are you aware of any training on this other than the brief section in our IBE training? Would any of you be willing to post a video of your process? Where do you start? Do you have a specific order in which you approach your cut? I’d love to see how you soften your ends.

I’d love to see how you blend short to long as well as hiding a blind bob, and just softening the ends when the extensions are close to their own length.

I’m pretty sure it’s on the videos.

You also may need to thin their hair out if it’s too blunt. so you don’t have a shelf.

Carol it’s crazy that you ask this! We are working exclusively with Sam Villa right now to produce some great content specifically for our IBE stylists!! We were going to present it at our event in a few months! But we are now reworking everything considering that has been postponed! But I do feel like this is important and have sought after industry leaders for the best education for my stylists!🙌🏼

I've found with any extention system I've used to use the 2 and a half hand rule with hair above your shoulders. Meaning, only add 2.5 hand widths from their shortest layer. It's helped me with blending and keeping the results natural.

    Handwidth sideways or straight?

“2.5 hand width rule” - I love it. That will be a helpful tool for consultations.
