This can happen if they snag the top of the left with a brush! Unfortunately hand tied hair is more delicate and can be prone to this. Some clients will swear they brush carefully but they always are repeat offenders when it comes to this. Just remind them to brush very delicately along the weft line.
Yes I’ve had this happen to a few of my clients! It’s the ones that I am pretty sure are harder on their hair with brushing, etc, even when I explain how to take care of it every time. I have had to replace wefts before because they were too far gone on the top 🤦🏻♀️ it’s frustrating, because I have other clients who have literally never had this happen and the top of the weft looks perfect the whole life of the hair.
I had a client do this to her wefts. I freaked out when I saw it. Her hair got kinda matted in it also. This last move up
I replaced most of her wefts and I showed her how to brush. Hopefully she doesn’t ruin this set

I’ve found that by having a mannequin head with wefts in I am able to really show my new clients how to care for their hair. Hope this helps.
I’ve had this happen before too! And I could never figure out why
I have seen it with LUXREMI but not with Covet & Mane .....i don’t know what the hell it is either....
I’ve found that when they aren’t using proper brushes and not holding the weft, they are unraveling the delicate hand tied hair
Some clients snag with their brush. So I use a crochet needle to pull the hair back through. Works everytime.
